About the role

About Lyra Health

Lyra Health is a leading provider of evidence-based mental health care, serving more than 20 million people globally in partnership with employers and more than 100 million through health plan and partner relationships. The company has delivered more than 15 million sessions of mental health care, published more than 35 peer-reviewed studies, and delivered unmatched outcomes in terms of access, clinical effectiveness, and cost efficiency. Extensive peer-reviewed research confirms Lyra’s transformative care model helps people recover twice as fast and results in a 26% annual reduction in overall healthcare claims costs. Lyra is transforming access to life-changing mental health care through Lyra Empower, the only fully integrated, AI-powered platform combining the highest-quality care and technology solutions.

About the Role

Lyra is at the forefront of increasing access to evidence-based, efficacious mental health services on a large scale. Lyra has developed innovative blended models of coaching and psychotherapy that combine leading clinical expertise with routine outcomes monitoring and engaging clinical digital tools. Additionally, Lyra offers a robust self-care library, which includes evidence-based articles, mindfulness resources, and other wellbeing tools. Scientific publications on Lyra’s mental health coaching, psychotherapy, medication management, and workforce mental health programs provide strong evidence for the clinical effectiveness of these evidence-based treatment programs.

We are seeking a highly skilled licensed psychologist with exceptional clinical expertise, writing skills, and content development experience who is passionate about developing client-facing materials (articles, quick tips, short psychoeducational videos, etc.) that teach evidence-based mental health skills. This role is centered on the development, management, and innovation of our digital self-care/prevention offering. Strong training, direct experience, and expertise in promoting individual and family well-being (kids, adolescents, parents, etc.) is required. This role will also support the development/refinement of Lyra’s AI tools, applying clinical knowledge and expertise to ensure AI’s safety and effectiveness.

You will be part of a highly skilled, creative, and collaborative team with an established track record for developing effective and engaging digital clinical materials on emotional wellness and psychotherapy skills. By directly reaching tens of thousands of clients, your work on self-care materials and AI tools will help create meaningful positive change on a large scale.

Responsibilities

  • Develop high-impact self-care resources: Review the evidence-base, write, and integrate significant feedback to create engaging resources, including articles, storytelling, short videos, quick tips, and exercises.

  • Create customized content for key populations: Develop tailored resources for special populations, conducting qualitative research (e.g., surveying providers) to enhance clinical value for our diverse member base.

  • Contribute to member outreach: Collaborate with Marketing teams on monthly campaigns, provide clinical review, and represent the clinical perspective in strategy discussions.

  • Support AI tool development: Contribute to clinical AI tool development and refinement, including testing, quality assurance monitoring, and writing gold-standard responses and dialogues to ensure safety and clinical effectiveness.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Partner with Product, Design, and other teams at Lyra on self-care initiatives.

  • Contribute to self-care innovation: Track emerging trends and research in the self-care landscape to inform and propose ideas to increase engagement and clinical value, including reviewing sources of content to consider licensing.

  • Provide internal training: Develop and deliver trainings for internal teams to support dissemination of self-care resources across Lyra.

  • Global localization: Support efforts to adapt and scale our self-care resources for new languages and global populations.

Qualifications

  • PsyD, PhD in Clinical or Counseling psychology

  • Fully licensed psychologist with 2+ years of primarily full-time direct clinical experience post-licensure

  • Excellent writing skills with demonstrated writing/content development experience; passionate about developing client-facing materials that teach evidence-based mental health skills to clients on a large scale

  • Excellent training in and experience delivering evidence-based treatments (e.g., ACT, MBCT, MBSR, CBT, DBT, IPT, EFT), wellness interventions, and safety risk assessment and management

  • Ability to apply experience with case conceptualization, treatment planning, and curriculum development to wellness programming

  • Training and experience teaching skills groups directly to clients (DBT, CBT, MBSR)

  • Experience as a mindfulness trainer/practitioner is preferred

  • Experience providing evidence-based care for parents, adolescents, and/or children is preferred

  • Strong training in and experience providing culturally responsive care is preferred

  • Experience in mental health promotion/prevention interventions is a plus

  • Independent, flexible, thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, compassionate, and open-minded
