About the role

About Orakl Oncology

Every cancer patient deserves a treatment that works for them. Today, too many never get one in time: fewer than 5% of new cancer drugs make it through clinical trials and every failure costs patients precious time .

Orakl exists to change those odds.

We bridge biological and artificial intelligence by building large cohorts of virtual cancer patients: real patients’ tumors, paired with their medical history and deep biological data. By combining patient-derived tumor models, deep biological data and AI, we help pharmaceutical companies predict how cancer drugs will perform in patients, identify promising treatments and make better decisions earlier in development.

We were founded in 2023 by Fanny Jaulin, PhD, Diane-Laure Pagès, PhD and Gustave Ronteix, PhD as a spin-out from Gustave Roussy, one of Europe's leading cancer centers, building on a decade of research. We are backed by top international VC investors and we are scaling our technology and partnerships with pharmaceutical companies worldwide.

The role

We are looking for Orakl's first Product Marketing Lead to shape how we bring our technology to market, from understanding our customers and positioning our offerings to building the commercial narratives and tools that help us win.

You will sit at the intersection of science, product and business development, turning complex scientific capabilities into compelling propositions for pharma and biotech customers.

Your job is to understand what our customers need, articulate why Orakl is uniquely positioned to deliver it, and help translate our technology into offerings that customers understand, trust and buy.

Working directly with our founders, BD and scientific teams, you will own product positioning, go-to-market strategy and commercial enablement, collaborating with our Communications & Events Lead on external launches and campaigns.

This is a hands-on role with significant strategic ownership and the opportunity to build Orakl's product marketing function from the ground up.

What you will do

Market intelligence and customer understanding

  • Customer discovery. Develop a deep understanding of pharma and biotech customers through interviews, prospect conversations and close collaboration with BD. Identify their priorities, decision-making processes, objections and unmet needs.

  • Customer segmentation. Define and refine Orakl's ideal customer profiles, priority market segments and key buying personas across translational research, clinical development, R&D leadership and BD/licensing teams.

  • Competitive intelligence. Map the competitive landscape, including in-house models, CROs and other AI platforms. Identify where Orakl wins, why it wins and how to communicate its differentiation.

  • Market feedback. Build a continuous feedback loop between customers, BD and scientific teams, translating market insights into recommendations for offering development and commercial strategy.

Product positioning and go-to-market strategy

  • Offering strategy and positioning. Work with BD, scientific teams and leadership to translate Orakl's capabilities into compelling commercial offerings, defining target customers, use cases, differentiation and competitive alternatives.

  • Messaging and value propositions. Develop clear, differentiated messaging for each offering and buyer persona, translating complex science into tangible scientific and business value.

  • Go-to-market strategy. Develop go-to-market plans for priority offerings and customer segments, defining target audiences, core propositions, competitive differentiation and commercial activation alongside BD.

  • Product launches. Lead the product marketing side of new offering launches, from positioning and messaging to materials and BD readiness, working with the Communications & Events Lead, who owns external announcements.

  • Pricing and packaging. Support BD and leadership in defining how offerings are structured, packaged and priced based on customer needs, market insights and competitive positioning.

Commercial enablement and impact

  • BD enablement. Build and own Orakl's commercial toolkit, including pitch decks, one-pagers, case studies, scientific summaries, proposal templates and competitive battlecards, tailored to different customers and use cases.

  • Scientific proof. Build and maintain a library of validation data, publications, case studies and partner references, translating scientific evidence into credible commercial arguments.

  • Team enablement. Equip BD and scientific teams with the messaging, materials and competitive knowledge they need to communicate Orakl's value consistently and effectively.

  • Conference and event content. Develop product messaging, scientific content and demos for conferences, webinars and industry events, working alongside the Communications & Events Lead, who manages event execution.

  • Commercial impact. Work with BD to understand what drives deal progression, wins and losses. Measure the effectiveness of positioning, messaging and go-to-market initiatives, using customer feedback and commercial data to continuously improve performance.

What we are looking for

  • 5+ years of experience in product marketing, solutions marketing or a commercially oriented role (such as business development, field applications or consulting) within life sciences, biotech, pharma or scientific technology.

  • Strong scientific foundations, ideally an MSc or PhD in life sciences or a related field, with the ability to engage credibly with scientists on oncology, translational research and clinical development.

  • Understanding of pharmaceutical R&D, including how pharma and biotech organisations evaluate, adopt and purchase external technologies and services.

  • Strategic marketing skills, with experience developing positioning, value propositions, customer segmentation or go-to-market strategies for complex technical products or services.

  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to turn sophisticated science into clear, persuasive narratives, presentations and commercial materials.

  • Analytical and customer-focused mindset, comfortable conducting market research, analysing competitors and translating customer insights into actionable recommendations.

  • Hands-on and entrepreneurial approach, equally comfortable defining a strategy and executing it, from building a deck to supporting a customer conversation.

  • Autonomy and collaborative instincts, with the confidence to work directly with founders, scientists and commercial leadership in a fast-moving startup.

  • Fluent in English and French.

  • Work on-site (our offices in Ile-de-France) with occasional remote work.

You don't need to have followed a traditional product marketing career path. We value people who combine scientific credibility, commercial judgment and the ability to make complex ideas clear.

What Orakl offers

  • Build something from the ground up. Become Orakl's first Product Marketer, with the opportunity to define the function and directly influence our commercial strategy.

  • Work at the frontier of AI and cancer research. Help bring breakthrough scientific capabilities to the pharmaceutical industry, with the potential to change how cancer drugs are developed.

  • Real ownership and direct access to leadership. Work closely with our founders, scientific experts and commercial team, with significant autonomy and room to grow.

  • Time to recharge. 25 days of paid holiday, plus approximately 9 additional rest days (RTT) per year.

  • Hybrid working. 1–2 days per week occasional work from home.

Interview Process

  1. Hiring Manager Call: getting to know each other, aligning on expectations context.

  2. Technical Deep Dive: detailed conversation about your experience and fit for the role, using examples of what you’ve done and how you like to work.

  3. Case study: a take-home case to prepare and then to present in-person to the team.

  4. Reference Call: with one or two former colleagues with whom you worked closely, including a direct manager.

  5. Founder Interview: A final discussion with at least one founder on vision, culture fit, and mutual ambitions.
