Software Engineer - Road Network Tools

Zoox's Road Network team is responsible for developing the software, tools, and processes needed to build and manage our high-definition road network. The ZRN Tooling team is responsible for the suite of applications Cartographers use daily to create, analyze, and validate the foundational road network maps used by the autonomy stack.

As a member of the ZRN Tooling team, you will build software and systems that enable our Cartography team. This includes our flagship 3D Map Editor, automated triaging and planning tools, and all the automation required to validate and deliver the map. The ZRN map underpins many systems at Zoox, so you’ll also work closely with teams to create new APIs and ensure our users are supported as they build map-driven systems.

In this role, you will:

• You will design, develop, and test features across the full stack for our road network applications, such as the Map Editor, Triage tools, and validation pipeline

• You will build out the content pipeline and automation that enables Cartographers to produce ZRN data accurately and quickly

• You will build tools and spatial algorithms that validate and refine our maps

• You will create software requirements, design documentation, test plans, and other supporting documentation

• You will contribute to all phases of the software development cycle including prototyping, requirements capture, design, implementation, and validation
