About the role

Veeva Systems is a mission-driven organization and pioneer in industry cloud, helping life sciences companies bring therapies to patients faster. As one of the fastest-growing SaaS companies in history, we surpassed $3B in revenue in our last fiscal year with extensive growth potential ahead. At the heart of Veeva are our values: Do the Right Thing, Customer Success, Employee Success, and Speed. We're not just any public company – we made history in 2021 by becoming a public benefit corporation (PBC), legally bound to balancing the interests of customers, employees, society, and investors. As a Work Anywhere company, we support your flexibility to work from home or in the office, so you can thrive in your ideal environment. Join us in transforming the life sciences industry, committed to making a positive impact on its customers, employees, and communities.

The Role

The Veeva Systems EMEA Payroll team is hiring for an ambitious, detail-oriented Junior Payroll Specialist with 1–2 years of Hungarian payroll experience who is ready to accelerate their career in a dynamic, high-performance culture. In this role, you will take true E2E ownership of Hungarian payroll calculations while collaborating closely with supportive senior team members to develop your skills in multi-country European (EMEA) operations.
Backed by accessible leadership and modern tools, this is an ideal role for a driven professional seeking continuous growth. You will step beyond local statutory processing to tackle new intellectual challenges, building deep expertise in international compliance, vendor management, and complex cross-border payroll.

What You'll Do

  • End-to-End Processing: Execute the full payroll cycle for a designated portfolio of several EU countries, including data input, validation, calculation, and final transmission to external payroll providers
  • Data Integrity & Reconciliation: Perform reconciliations of payroll data against source systems. Investigate and resolve all discrepancies quickly and accurately
  • Tax & Statutory Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to all local tax, social security, and statutory requirements
  • Variable Compensation: Accurately process complex payroll inputs, including bonuses, commissions, equity transactions (RSUs/Stock Options), expatriate allowances, and complex termination payments
  • Analytical Support: Utilize strong analytical skills and proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, complex formulas)
  • Customer Service: Provide prompt, professional, and confidential support to employees regarding complex payroll calculations, deductions, and tax inquiries, ensuring a high level of employee satisfaction
  • Internal Partnership: Collaborate seamlessly with internal teams (HR, Finance) to ensure accurate employee classifications, benefits administration, and payroll transactions
  • Audit Support: Assist with internal and external payroll audits by preparing necessary documentation, ensuring compliance with internal controls (e.g., SOX compliance)
  • Ad hoc – perform ad hoc tasks as and when assigned by the payroll manager

Requirements

  • 1+ years of professional experience managing end-to-end payroll processing, preferably in a multinational environment
  • Proven proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced data analysis and reconciliation techniques
  • Experience working with a major HRIS system (Workday) would be an advantage
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in a fast-paced environment
  • Fluency in verbal and written English is required

  • Within 3 days, you will receive a link to a personality assessment administered by a third party.
