As one of the fastest-growing SaaS companies in history, we surpassed $3B in revenue in our last fiscal year with extensive growth potential ahead. At the heart of Veeva are our values: Do the Right Thing, Customer Success, Employee Success, and Speed. We're not just any public company – we made history in 2021 by becoming a public benefit corporation (PBC), legally bound to balancing the interests of customers, employees, society, and investors. As a Work Anywhere company, we support your flexibility to work from home or in the office, so you can thrive in your ideal environment. Join us in transforming the life sciences industry, committed to making a positive impact on its customers, employees, and communities.

The Role

The Veeva Systems EMEA Payroll team is hiring a Senior Payroll Specialist to join our growing, high-performance team. In this dynamic role, you will be the captain of your own ship, taking true end-to-end ownership of managing, processing, and reconciling multi-country payrolls using modern tools and systems.
Supported by accessible leadership and a highly collaborative culture, you will tackle complex challenges while ensuring strict adherence to local statutory compliance, tax laws, and internal controls. Serving as a trusted advisor to cross-functional partners, you’ll leverage your individual agility to drive continuous growth, seamless operational delivery, and exceptional employee support across the region.

What You'll Do

  • Own and execute the end-to-end payroll process for several European countries, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across all pay cycles (on-cycle and off-cycle)
  • Audit, validate, and reconcile complex payroll data against source files, ensuring complete accuracy and compliance before final approval
  • Advise and align with internal stakeholders (HR, Finance, and Employee Success) and external service providers to deliver expert advisory support on complex compliance and payroll matters, ensuring data accuracy and proper employee classification
  • Master and implement evolving EU payroll tax regulations, proactively safeguarding regional compliance standards and mitigating risk
  • Spearhead process improvement initiatives, architecting new workflows and driving successful regional adoption

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional payroll experience in a fast-paced, multi-national environment handling EMEA payroll
  • Strong knowledge of EU payroll tax regulations, social contributions, and statutory compliance requirements
  • High attention to detail, proactive problem-solving, fast-learning ability, and a collaborative, customer-first approach
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet strict deadlines in a dynamic business environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English to effectively collaborate with internal and external partners
  • Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office products with advanced Microsoft Excel functions

Nice to Have

  • HRIS & Payroll Systems: Hands-on experience with major global HRIS and ERP systems (e.g., Workday or NetSuite)
  • Professional Certification: Recognized payroll or accounting qualification (e.g., CIPP, Certified Payroll Professional, or regional equivalent)

  • Within 3 days, you will receive a link to a personality assessment administered by a third party.
  • Once you complete the assessment, our team will review your full application package and follow up via email with our decision.

    1. A conversation with the hiring manager
